American Disabilities Act
The City of Berne is in the process of developing its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. As established by a Council Resolution, the ADA Coordinator is Becky Sprunger.
The ADA Transition Plan will be the city’s guide to identifying and improving public access including its sidewalks, crosswalks, and public facilities. The goal is to develop an inventory of city assists and to develop a program for corrective measures to bring these into compliance with the ADA.
Citizen input is a very important part of this process! We are looking for concerned citizens, advocates for the disabled, and others interested in these issues in our community to review various documents and plans on our city website that are part of the ADA Transition Plan process. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing your thoughts and concerns. Please feel free to fill out the grievance form or the comment form. You may also call the city building, (260) 589-8526, or send an email to Becky Sprunger at bsprunger@cityofberne.com.
Click here for a printable grievance form. You can bring the completed form in to our office, drop in the box provided exiting on to Hendricks Street or send via US Mail. The address is Berne City Building. 158 West Franklin Street 46711.
